The back page has a letter beginning: "In order that the public may not be misled into a notion of the respectability of a body of persons calling themselves Loyalists, who are shortly to assemble in Great Queen Street & in the phrenzy of a drunken revel to celebrate those acts of human butchery perpetrated on our faithful subjects in America, under the authority of a bloody-minded administration...".
Another column has some news of the war, a few bits including: "The report of an insurrection at Philadelphia...takes its rise from the following...there was a division among the inhabitants of Phila. about fortifying the town soon after New York was taken...General Washington has crossed Hudson's river with 5,000 men & has collected the troops in the two Jerseys & has taken post at Trenton. If General Howe does not drive him over the Delaware river, he (General Howe) cannot secure a post in Jersey during the winter..." with much more.
Four pages, never-trimmed margins, red tax stamp on page 3, very nice condition.
