THE LONDON EVENING POST, England, Oct. 19, 1779

The front page has a brief item: "Paul Jones, since he has been at Amsterdam, has put into the hands of  the American agent there ransom bills to the amount  of upwards of 8000 guineas for him to procure the payment of them...Paul Jones resides at a public hotel at Amsterdam...".
Page 3 has nearly a full column of American news, being with a report of the Battle of Minisink, New York, the only major skirmish of the Revolutionary War fought in the upper Delaware Valley.
Also a report noting: "The enemy yesterday made themselves masters of Fort Freeland on the West Branch of Susquehanna...The garrison to remain prisoners of war, the whole garrison to be plundered by the Indians & the women to go free."
