July 13, 1779

THE LONDON EVENING POST, England, July 13, 1779

* Revolutionary War Era
* 18th century
* From The Enemy

Half of page 2 is taken up with content relating to America including: "A Proclamation" by the king of England, beginning: "Whereas we have received intelligence that preparations are making by our enemies to invade this our kingdom...".
Also a letter from General Henry Clinton to Lord G. Germaine concerning his recent offensive efforts in upstate New York, along the Hudson, including his captures Verplanck’s Point and the still uncompleted fort at Stony Point.
This is followed by a letter from General Mathews concerning his efforts in the raid on Norfolk, Virginia.
Plus there is a great wealth of reporting on page 3 concerning events in the Revolutionary War taking nearly half of the page. Too much to list here but much visible in the photos.
Four pages, folio size, never-trimmed margins, red tax stamp on the front page, a bit irregular at the blank spine, nice condition.
