EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, Oct. 21, 1746 Page 2 has a: "List of the Rebel Prisoners who were Ordered for Execution at Carlisle" which includes: "The several persons appointed to be executed at Carlisle on Saturday last have all suffered, except one Ancram, who was reprieved...".
Page 3 begins with: "We hear that the young Pretender [Bonnie Prince Charlie] was in such hurry to get off upon the 20th ult. at Arisaig, that he would not wait to received Ardshiel, Torcastle, Cluny M'Pherson, the Laird of M'Lauchlan & several other Rebel Chiefs who were making all the haste they could to make their escape with im. but that he left them his promise to return so soon as a proper opportunity offer'd."
Four pages, 8 by 10 inches, red tax stamp on the ftpg. very nice condition.
