Africans celebrate the abolition of the slave trade...

INDEPENDENT CHRONICLE, Boston, July 13, 1812  The front page has three Acts of Congress signed by President James Madison, One for: "Making further provision for the Army of the United States" from this early period in the War of 1812. Other war-related items on page 2.
But the most notable content is on page 3 headed: "Thanksgiving" which begins: "The Africans in Boston will keep a Thanksgiving in commemoration of the abolition of the Slave Trade, to-morrow...The Procession will form..." with further details.
Rare to find such reports with specific mention of the Africans in celebration.
Complete in 4 pages and in very nice condition.
