THE MORNING POST AND DAILY ADVERTISER, London, Jan. 19, 1790 Unusual in that nearly half a column on pg. 3 is taken up with not just "Boxing" as it is headed, but with the: "...celebrated pugilists, Humphreys and Mendoza...", the latter being the famed Jewish boxer. The article notes: "...Humphreys and Mendoza met yesterday evening, by appointment...accompanied by a few friends on each side. After a discussion as to the terms upon which the ensuing contest should take place..." with more. Included also are the "Articles of Agreement" signed in type by: Richard Humphreys and Daniel Mendoza, setting up their famed boxing match.
Four pages, very nice condition.
