A newspaper from the capital of the Confederates States. Two-thirds of a front page column is taken up with: "Another Yankee Letter" which has some nice content on the Battle of Bull Run (see for portions). Also on the ftpg: "A Brave Man" "Handsome Compliment to a Gallant Son of Richmond" "The Gallant Dead" "Effect of the Late Battle" "The Wise Legion" "Cavalry" "The Lincoln Administration--The War Party at the North" and other items.
Pages 2 & 3 have much more on the Civil War including: "The Battle Of Manassas" "Northern & Southern Strength" "Their Best Army" "War Matters--Movements of the Enemy--Affairs at Fortress Monroe--Federal Outrages" "The Manassas Failure" "Lincoln's Cabinet" "From Norfolk" and much more. The back page is mostly taken up with ads and notices.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, various foxing & spotting throughout, irregular at the margins with some chipping & minor loss.
