August 19, 1881

THE JOURNAL, Evansville, Indiana, August 19, 1881

* Guadalupe Canyon Massacre
* The Clantons - Wyatt Earp & more

The back page has a nice account of what is known as the Guadalupe Canyon Massacre, with headings on column five: "BORDER TROUBLES" "Lawlessness at Tombstone and Epitaph, Arizona" and more. (see) The report is taken from a Tombstone 'Epitaph' report and has much on the attack. History tells us that some notable names were involved, including the Clantons (report here mentions "Clinton", likely a misspelling of 'Clanton'), the Earps, Doc Holliday, & others (see the hyperlink).
Other news and advertisements of the day. Complete with 4 page, large size issue measuring 25 x 19 inches, light toning and a little wear at the margins, generally good. Should be handed with care due to size.
