THE NEW YORK TIMES,  April 21, 1930

* Aviator Charles Lindbergh
* Transcontinental flight record
* Early aviation era original

The front page has a three column headline: "LINDBERGH SETS A RECORD FROM COAST OF 14 3/4 HOURS WITH WIFE AS NAVIGATOR; FLIES 180 MILES AN HOUR AT 14,000 FEET" with subheads. (see) Lengthy text continues on page 2 with related photo and map. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
Other news, sports, advertisements of the day. Complete in 48 pages, this is the rare rag edition that was produced on very high quality newsprint, with a high percentage of cotton & linen content, allowing the issues to remain very white & sturdy into the present. Given the subscription cost, libraries & institutions rather than individuals were the primary subscribers of these high-quality editions. Nice condition.
