 NEW YORK TIMES, Feb. 20, 1863 

* Confederate General Beauregard proclamation
* Citizens of Carolina and Georgia called to arms


Among the ftpg. column heads on the Civil War are: "Important from Vicksburgh" "Rebel Steamer Vicksburgh Badly Injured by the Ram Queen" "An Immediate Attack Upon Charleston & Savannah Expected" "A Bombastic Proclamation from Beauregard" which includes: "...Carolinians and Georgians!...The hour is at hand to prove your country's cause. Let all able-bodied men...rush to arms. Be not too exacting in the choice of weapons. Pikes & scythes will do for exterminating your enemies...Come to share with us our danger, our brilliant success, our glorious death."
Eight pages, a bit irregular at the spine, nice condition.
