NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Nov. 14, 1818  The first 3 ages contains a very interesting article on the American Indians, titled; "The American Aborigines" and beginning: "This people is rapidly passing away. Treaty after treaty & cession after cession, curtains the extent of their domain. The wild animals of the forest, on which they mainly depended for food, retire from the sound of the axe..." with much more.
Under the heading: "New States" is mention of Illinois to become a state soon, and mention of Missouri and Alabama to join the Union very soon as well. Discussion of movements towards statehood in other territories as well.
Sixteen pages, 6 1/4 by 9 1/2 inches, even toning and lite scattered foxing, otherwise in very good condition.

As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
