NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Feb. 12, 1831 Inside has: "The African Colony" which notes in part: "It seems that a colonist may now be transported to Liberia for the sum of $20, & great efforts are making to give new power to the project of relieving our country of an unhappy population..." with more. Elsewhere is: "Dinners in Paris to Gen. LaFayette" "LaFayette & Wellington" "Mint United States--Operations, 1830" gives the count of each coin minted, plus more. Much reporting from Congress as well.
Sixteen pages, 6 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches, very nice condition.
As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
