Beauregard's official report on the Battle of Manassas... in a Confederate newspaper...

Item # 646929

February 04, 1862

THE DAILY EXPRESS, Petersburg, Virginia, February 4, 1862

* P.G.T. Beauregard official report
* Battle of Bull Run - Manassas

Certainly one of the less common titles from the Confederacy. Most of the front page is taken up with: "The War--Its Movements! Official Report of Gen. Beauregard Of The Battle of Manassas" which has tremendous detail. At the end it notes: "To be concluded to-morrow."
Page 22 has an editorial item headed "Gen. George B. Crittenden" which is supportive of him when others were critical concerning his involvement in a recent battle. Also inside: "From Norfolk" 'From Suffolk", "The Military Bill"; a brief dispatch to General McCook signed: John H. Morgan; "The Gas Question", "Contributions For Soldiers", "Latest from The North!", "From Richmond" and more. The back page has: "The War Tax--An Act" which takes over two columns.
Archivally rejoined at the spine, some water staining near the left side, never-trimmed margins, a blue ink spot near the bottom.
