The front page has one column heads: "Joe Louis Due to Don Uniform on Wednesday" above which is a photo of him captioned: "Army Acquires a New Type of Bomber - Joe Louis and W. C. Saunders, Army examination official - The Brown Bomber is fingerprinted, at Fort Jay, L.I.". This is the report of Joe Louis becoming "draft registrant No. 374". Great coverage in his hometown paper.
