The back page has a short bit noting: "It is said the great obstacle of peace with America is the proposition of independence. The Earl of Shelburne and Lord Ashburton are positively against it. They have already given their opinions publicly."
This is followed by a letter from Amsterdam which notes: "...respect to a peace with England...the French part are against it; they have, however, no objection to a general peace...if England will acknowledge America independent...".
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/4 inches, very nice condition.
