September 25, 1881

THE CLEVELAND HERALD, Ohio, Sept. 25, 1881

* President James S. Garfield death
* Best title to have ?

See the photos for the nice graphic presentations of a presidential funeral. Perhaps this is not surprising, because Garfield was from Cuyahoga County,  the county of Cleveland, making this essentially his "hometown" newspaper.
The first column has some nice first column heads as well including: "AT REST" "Near The Place That Gave Him Life" "And Among the People He Had Loved So Well" "Lies All That is Mortal of Our Fallen Chief" "His Long Journey Almost Ended" and more.
Fine content inside as well, with pages 4 and 5 having nice & large graphics on the funeral, and pages 6 & 7 have interesting graphics showing "The Track" of the fatal bullet, and 3 graphics of the President's respiration (see).
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed, several folds, minor margin wear, bit of fold foxing, generally good.
