GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, May, 1770  There are 3 1/2 pages on: "A Curious Description of Dalkey and Its Seven Castles" which is accompanied by a foldout print of one of the castles. This print measures 8 by 10 inches & is in very nice condition (see). Also in this issue: "On the Disparity of the Language of N. and S. Wales" and much more.
Near the back is the "Historical Chronicle" with the latest news reports, including an item noting: "...principal merchants concerned in the American trade sent down counter orders to the manufacturing counties to postpone the commissions for American exportation...without full redress having been obtained for the grievances complained of from that continent." (see)
The only plate called for is present and noted above.
Complete in 48 pages, 5 by 8 1/4 inches, full title/contents page featuring an engraving of St. John's Gate, very nice condition.

A very nice magazine from the "mother country" from the year of the Boston Massacre with a wide range of varied content. This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907.
