FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED, New York, March 23, 1889  A fullpg. has 5 prints of: "Lower California. The New Gold Discoveries in Santa Clara Valley--Scenes & Incidents of the Rush to the Mines." Another pg. has an article: "Unleavened Bread For The Passover" plus two related illustrations on the making of it for the Jewish feast. Yet another page is entirely taken up with 5 prints captioned: "Southern California--In and About San Diego, 'The City of Perpetual Summer' " showing both prominent buildings in the city (some still exist in the current 'Gaslamp Quarter')  plus a nice view of the bay & harbor (see).
Sixteen pages, very nice condition.
