This was one of the few newspapers which had: "Confederate States of America" printed in the masthead (see). There is much reporting on the Civil War--from the Confederate perspective--including ftpg. items headed: "From Orange C.H.--Yankee Army Ordered to Move--Mosby Harassing the Enemy--Surprise of a Picket" "From Dalton--Dash Of Yankee Cavalry" "From Richmond--Affairs at the Capital" "Latest From New Orleans--Yankees Claim a Drawn Battle in the Late Fighting" "From Demopolis, Ala." "From Mississippi--Wirt Adams' Victory--The Enemy Retreating" "The Federal Defeat in Louisiana" "Siege of Charleston" "Mr. Long's Great Speech In the Yankee Congress" which has much on the war.
The back page has a few items including: "Later from New Orleans & Red River" but is otherwise taken up with various advertisements including "Fifty Dollars Reward" for a runaway slave, and "One Hundred Dollars Reward" which is similar, plus many Acts of the Confederate Congress.
Complete as a single sheet newspaper, a few minor archival mends at the margins, paper weakness causes many small holes but causing no loss of readability, generally in very nice condition.
