NEW YORK TRIBUNE, Sept. 29, 1865  The front page has: "The Fenians" "Meeting of the Magistrates of Cork County - Priest Denouncing Fenianism" which includes: "...We understand that this society, which has been so extensively developed all over the country, became the subject of remark last Sunday from the pulpits of the several Catholic chapels in this neighborhood. The clergymen condemned it is in the strongest terms, and warned their flocks of the consequences of having any connection with it. It is time that something were done to put down this illegal combination...." More reports on the Fenian movement is within this article.
Page four has: "Negro Troops - What Gen. Grant Says" and the back page contains Testimony for the Defense in the Wirz Trial - Andersonville.  A small article on the Atlantic vs. Charter Oak baseball game is also on the back page. It is report that "...It was not a pretty game, nor was it played with much spirit on the part of the champions..." The score was 37-11.
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed, good condition.
