As the title suggests, this publication is replete with news concerning the movie industry. This issue has a major event on the front page with: "Browne, Bioff Guilty as Charged; Face 30 Years" with related subheads.
Running unopposed, George E Brown was elected President of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees of the American Federation of Labor in 1934. His two challengers backed out after allegedly receiving death threats. In 1941, Browne and Willie Morris Bioff were indicted for racketeering on behalf of the Chicago Mafia, and convicted of extortion. This was a major shake-up in the movie industry. Great to have in this publication.
