THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, August, 1793 This issue features four full page plates, one of which is a very nice: "Knaresbrough from the Banks of the Nydde" with very descriptive text as well (see). Under: "Review of New Publications" is: "An Essay on the Abolition Not Only of the African Slave Trade, but of Slavery in the British West Indies" which takes over half a column.Included are all four full page plates called for.
Complete in 96 pages, full title/contents page with an engraving of St. John's Gate, 5 by 8 inches, very nice condition.
This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907.
