THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, England, December, 1799  Among the many articles is a very curious one: "A Dissertation on Sneezing: Custom of Blessing Those who Sneeze - Its practical Utility" which takes several pages.  Various news reports as well, mostly concerning England.
Included are both plates called for, one of which shows a castle (see).
Complete in 86 pages, full title/contents page with an engraving of St. John's Gate, 5 by 8 inches, nice condition.

This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907.
