THE NEW YORK TIMES, May 23, 1930

* Babe Ruth * Lou Gehrig
* New York Yankees
* Shibe Park home runs
* MLB baseball

The sport's section (page 26) has a six column headline: "Three Homers Each For Ruth and Gehrig as Yanks Win Twice" with subheads that include: "RUTH HITS 3 MORE AS YANKS WIN TWO" "Now Has 12 Home Runs" "League Record Is Broken" and more. (see) Box scores included as well. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this famous New York City publication.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 48 pages, this is the rare rag edition that was produced on very high quality newsprint, with a high percentage of cotton & linen content, allowing the issues to remain very white & sturdy into the present. Given the subscription cost, libraries & institutions rather than individuals were the primary subscribers of these high-quality editions. Very nice condition.
