THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, England, December, 1751  Over two pages are taken up with: "An Account of the Incas or Emperors of Peru..." with a related plate of them in the November issue.
Over a page is on: "Account of the Anthelmia..." plant from Jamaica, which is accompanied by a full page plate of it as well as other items (see photos).
Other items in this issue include:

* an article on experiments in electricity
* "Monument for Dr. Swift"
* "Seeds & Culture of North American Plants"
* a full page sheet of music
* various poems


Near the back is the "Historical Chronicle" which has various news reports from throughout Europe. It includes a half page: "Letter from on Board a Ship at Kingston, in Jamaica" (see).
Complete in 50 pgs. with full title/index page which contains an engraving of St. John's Gate.  Measures about 5 by 8 1/4 inches, a 1 1/4 x 2 3/4 inch piece is missing from the lower left corner of the backpage, otherwise is in good condition.

A very nice pre-Revolutionary War magazine from the "mother country" with a wide range of varied content including news of the day, political reports, literary items, and other unusual tidbits. This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907.
