Two front page Civil War maps...

Item # 597801

February 13, 1862

PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Feb. 13, 1862

* Battle of Roanoke Island (2 maps)
* Ambrose Burnside & Louis M. Goldsborough

A very graphic & displayable issue, as the front page features not one but two nice maps, one captioned: "Albemarle Sound & the Point of Attack of the Federal Fleet", with related text, and the other headed: "Roanoke Island".
Both the first and last columns have nice stacks of Civil War headlines including: "VICTORY! VICTORY!!" "The Alexandria Slave Pen" "Further From Port Royal" "The War in Kentucky & Missouri" "Another Great Victory" "Burnside & Goldsborough" "Southern Chivalry Surrenders" "Roanoke Island & Elizabeth City Captured" "Whole Rebel Army Destroyed or Captured" "Com. Lynch A Prisoner" and much more (see photos).
Eight pages, nice condition.
