This genuine newspaper has a wealth of Civil War reporting from during Abraham Lincoln's administration. Among the one column front page headlines on the Civil War are: "THE BATTLE OF YORKTOWN" "The Rebel Under Magruder Thirty Thousand Strong" "The War On The Mississippi" "The Occupation of Washington N.C." "The Fight At Yorktown" "The Siege Of Yorktown"
Page 4 has: "An Engagement At Pittsburg Landing" "The Rebels Whipped" which is an early, 1st report account on the Battle of Shiloh. More Civil War reporting.
This issue is complete in eight pages. A piece is torn away at the bottom left corner of the 2nd leaf (see photos). There is also light foxing and a little other margin wear. Otherwise it is in good condition.
