Page 6 has one-third of a column taken up with: "California--The Bad State of Business" (see). Page 5 has a nice article taking a bit less than half a column headed: "Frederick Douglass--Western Reserve College" concerning a speech he gave there. The theme of his talk was "The Claims of the Negro Race Viewed in a Psychological and Physiological light" (see). Page 4 has an item referencing it noting: "...It is in itself a striking fact that a man of color should be invited to speak o such an occasion..." (see).
Eight pages, water staining to the left portion but causing no loss of readability, otherwise good condition.
