BELLOWS FALLS INTELLIGENCER, Vermont, May 10, 1824 Page 3 has; "Discoveries In The Moon" is a fascinating report noting in part: "...aided by a good telescope...enabled to make of a colossal building situated near the equator of the moon, resembling a fortress with strait ramparts, which are arranged like the lateral fibres of an alder leaf. We now learn that he has discovered a great many regularly made roads...the clearest traces of cultivation on the surface of the Moon...and several other indications of rational beings in that planet." (see).
