Reacting to the Boston Port Bill...

Item # 568866

June 18, 1774

THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, June 18, 1774  Almost the entire front page is taken up with: "A Review of the Present Administration", being a review of a pamphlet of this title and which gives much attention to the results of the Boston Port Bill . The photos show most of the article, which begins: "The Boston port bill is a measure planned with the utmost wisdom & policy..." and much more. Some fine reading.
Page 2 includes: "The Americans received a copy of the Boston port bill on the 15th of May...The first step they took was printing it at Boston & New York upon mourning paper, with a black border & crying it about the streets under the name of 'a barbarous, cruel, blood and inhuman murder.'..." with more.
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/4 inches, full red ink tax stamp inside, very nice condition.
