Page 3 has a report from St. Louis about the "Burning of Abolition Pamphlets" in Marion County. The report states, in part that:

* ...considerable excitement was... produced by reports of the reception of boxes of abolition pamphlets in that quarter. Search was made, and two boxes were found, filled with these incendiary productions. They were immediately seized...and committed to the flames in Palmyra...", plus word that the people for whom the pamphlets were intended, were given a "...limited period...to make their escape...
