This is not the complete issue but rather just the single leaf which contains the very famous full page print by Thomas Nast titled: 'The 3rd term Panic' which shows the Republican elephant for the very first time.
Thomas Nast was the creator of both the Republican elephant and the Democratic donkey, as well as the modern version of Santa Claus.
A cornerstone item for any political collector. Measures almost 11 by 16 inches, a few archival mends to the back side, generally in great and very displayable condition.
