GLASGOW MERCURY, Scotland, Oct. 11, 1781 Inside has a letter about engagements in Richmond, with mention of Birds Tavern and Norrels Mill, and in particular, a battle near Green Springs involving a detachment led by General Anthony Wayne. The letter is signed in type: Fayette, and includes a list of the killed and wounded in Gen. Waynes detachment. Much more in an extract of a letter about the fighting in Virginia. A report from "London" comments: "If America were left to itself, it probably would be soon again in a provincial situation.--The different interests of the Thirteen States are jarring and discordant." Also mention of an attempt to "....persuade the Virginians to return to their allegiance." Quarto-size, 8 pgs.
