February 16, 1775

PENNSYLVANIA EVENING POST, Philadelphia, February 16, 1775 Taking all of the ftpg. and half of page 2 is a: "View of the Present State of Parliamentary Representation" which is curious being on the advent of the Revolutionary War, but does not involve any talk or mention of America. Brief pg. 3 mention of a man who was tarred & feathered in America. Back page item from "Philadelphia" deals with the problem of various gold coins having various rates. The back page also has a great report from the Provincial Congress at Cambridge, Mass., concerning the detestation of any citizens who aid the British in their presence in Boston, saying: "…he or they so affending shall be held in the highest detestation and deemed inveterate enemies to America, and ought to be prevented and opposed by all reasonable means whatever." with much more. There is a very small hole in the back leaf which affects one word in this report, otherwise the issue is in great condition. An American newspaper published just two months before the battle of Lexington & Concord.
