HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, November 27, 1909 (no color cover)

This issue has a photo of "A Militant Man of Letters" and a poem with illustrations called "Thanksgiving" by Francis Medhurst and illustrations by J. A. Williams. There are photo spreads of "Chicago's Outdoor Art Exhibit" and "The Play and the Players." There is a photo of "Mme. Nordica in an Historic Role" and photos of "A Versatile Young Man" plus a double page illustration of "Has it Ever Happened to You?--Husband: 'O, Lord! I Had That For Lunch!' " by James Montgomery Flagg and "Getting Dinner" by William L. Jacobs. There is a photo spread of "The New White House Executive Offices"; "The Mine Disaster in Illinois" and much more.

The front page also has a photo of "William M. Laffan", who was the publisher, editor, and/or part owner of several newspapers, including:  The New York Sun, the Baltimore Daily Bulletin, and the San Francisco Daily Bulletin.  He was a well-known friend, correspondent, and publisher of Mark Twain.

Other advertisements of the day are included as well, helping to portray life at the turn of the century. 

The color cover on this issue related to Thanksgiving, by William Harnden Foster, is not present.  Overall good condition.
