There is also a double page illustration by Kemble called "Uncle Sam: 'Say, You Old Birds, Stop Your Scrapping and Finish Up That Job, I'm Badly in Need of that Particular Article.' " and a full page illustration of "The Social Whirl" by J. N. Howitt and there are photos of "The Aeronautics of Bridge-Building." There is an ad for "Is Shakespeare Dead?" by Mark Twain plus much more.
Other advertisements of the day are included as well, helping to portray life at the turn of the century.
