Mr. Taft in Panama.... A Capable Humorist by Mark Twain...

HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, February 20, 1909  The front page of this issue has an illustration of "February 22, 1732" by A. D. Blashfield which is referencing the birth of George Washington.
This issue has photos of "Mr. Taft at Panama"; "Our Wonderful Country" and there is an article with illustrations of "The Discovery of the Soul" by Victor Rousseau. There is also a photo of "From London to Broadway" and "Where Winter Has No Terrors" which consists of photos of winter games in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Also included in this issue is a double page illustration spread of "Notable Paintings in this Year's Exhibition of the Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia" and much more. Also included is a full-page article entitled "A Capable Humorist" by Mark Twain.
Other advertisements of the day are included as well, helping to portray life at the turn of the century.
