HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, June 28, 1873 Two-thirds of the ftpg. is an illustration: "The Modoc War-Captain Jack's Cave in the Lava Beds."
Inside has a full page illustration of "The Modocs-Murder of General Canby" but perhaps the prime feature is a full page print by Winslow Homer: "The Noon Recess".
Also in this issue is a full page: "Way Down Upon the Swanee Ribber" which features a Negro man playing the violin; a full page: "The Vision of Loyola-Our New Board of Education." There are four large illustrations pertaining to "The Creedmoor Rifle Range." and a quarter-page portrait of "Frank H. Walworth", and a half page illustration of "Masonic Honors to the Late Minister Orr-The Body Lying in State in the Governor's Room, City Hall."
The "Supplement" has two 1/2 page portraits pertaining to "The Slavery Question in Eastern Africa-The Baker Expedition" including "Sir Samuel White Baker, K.C.R." and "Lady Baker.", and a two-thirds page illustration: "Blacks" and "Reds" in Rome-Who Shall Go to the Wall?" and a two-thirds page: "Bleak House-Jo."
Complete in 16 pages plus the Supplement, and contains additional prints and related text.
