Lady Liberty decorating General Grant print by Thomas Nast...

HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, June 6, 1868 The front page features a full page Thomas Nast illustration which shows Grant being decorated by Lady Liberty entitled "Chicago, May 21, 1868". Inside the issue includes two illustrations showing Grant, one at Army Head-quarters and one as the candidate for the Presidency. A full page 'The Republican Convention in Session - View from the Stage'; also another fullpage features two illustrations "Arrival of Delegates to the Republican Convention at Chicago" and "Exterior of Crosby's Opera-House, Chicago". A half page print entitled 'Reading News of the Nomination of General Grant In the Country' shows a man on horseback reading a newspaper. An article entitled "Honoring Our Dead Heroes" also has an accompanying 3/4 page illustration in which the tombstones are engraved with the names some of the great battles of the Civil War.
Complete in 16 pages and contains additional prints and related text.
