August 17, 1920

THE KANSAS CITY JOURNAL, Kansas City, MO., August 17, 1920. Small, one line headline on page seven that reads, "American Athletes Outclass Other Nations in Olympic Games". Subheads include, "New 400 Meter Hurdles Mark Set by Loomis", "Chicagoan Runs Distance in 54 Seconds Flat; Scholz Finishes Fifth in 100 Meter Dash." Although not easy to see in the photos, there is also coverage of Ray Chapman being hit end the head by a pitch which caused his skull to be fractured.
Complete and in good condition for the era, but it is fragile, and there is a bit of margin roughness along the bottom edge. See photo for additional details.
