NEW YORK TRIBUNE, Dec. 6, 1875  The front page has a full column, page 2 has two columns, and page 5 has 1 1/2 columns taken up with considerable detail on the recent escape of "Boss" Tweed from jail.
He escaped jail on December 4 and fled to Spain, where he was eventually found and returned to the States and to jail. Great to have this very lengthy account in a New York newspaper.
Eight pages, nice condition.

This fire, which occurred on the same day as the more famous Chicago Fire & consequently received much less press attention, was actually much more of a disaster,as Peshtigo suffered over 1500 deaths compare to 300 in the Chicago Fire.
