Four pages, evenly browned and somewhat pulpish, but not as pulpish as many issues from this era.  The issue shown is representative of the look and condition of the issue you will receive, but dates and actual issues vary.

The front page has a report of the capture of the infamous bandit Tiburcio Vasquez. Vasquez was a Mexican bandit who was active in California from as early as 1857 until his capture. The Vasquez Rocks, the steep, sloped rocks about 40 miles north of Los Angeles, were one of his many hideouts and received their name from him.

LOS ANGELES DAILY HOTEL GAZETTE, California, June 14, 1895  An interesting newspaper calling itself: "The Official Organ Southern Calif. Hotel Association". Logically, the content & the advertisements are focused on hotels and tourism.

CALIFORNIA INDEPENDENT, Los Angeles, 1901  Printed in the dateline is: "An Inter-Denominational Christian Newspaper" and in a banner which is part of the masthead: "Our Motto: Pure Religion, Pure Morals, Pure Government". As would be expected, the content is primarily religious in nature. Complete in 12 pages, 101/2 by 14 inches, never bound nor trimmed, nice condition.

THE LOS ANGELES TIMES, California, Dec. 9, 1891  The entire front page, and most of page 5 are taken up with the: "MESSAGE Of The President of the United States to Congress and the Country". It is signed in type at its conclusion: Benjamin Harrison. A wealth of content on the accomplishments & challenges of 1891.
Complete in 8 pages, minor wear at folds, good condition.
