Two issue set: NEW YORK TIMES, Oct. 31, 1865 and HARPER'S WEEKLY, November 18, 1865  Page 5 has: "The Great Base Ball Match The Atlantics Against the Athletics--The Atlantics the Victors". Details from the one paragraph summary include: The Atlantics made eleven fly-catches and two home runs, and the Athletics eight fly-catches and one home run. The Atlantics were skunked once, and the Athletics four times. Mentions there was an immense crowd, that the weather was pleasant, and the game lasted 3 1/2 hours. This includes the box score. The Harper's Weekly issue contains a half-page illustration entitled "Base-Ball Match Between the 'Athletics', of Philadelphia, PA., and the 'Atlantics' of Brooklyn, N.Y., Played at Philadelphia, October 30, 1865". This also contains a short article where it state "...The two clubs engaged in the contest are considered the best in the country...". Other illustrations, articles and advertisements are within.
