THE PENNSYLVANIA PACKET, Philadelphia, March 17, 1788  Page 2 has much discussion from the Mass. convention for ratifying the Constitution (see for portions), and also includes discussion from South Carolina on the proposed Constitution which includes: "...In the first place, what reason was there for jealousy in our negro trade? Why confine it to a limited period or rather why lay any restriction? There is a stroke aimed at the prohibition of our negro trade by an ungenerous limitation of 20 years, & this under the specious pretext of humanity..." with much more. The back page has: "Five Pounds Reward" beginning: "Ran away from the subscriber, living in George Town, Kent county, Maryland, on the 6th day of February past, a Negro SLAVE called Nathan..." with much more detail (see).
