June 04, 1788
THE PENNSYLVANIA PACKET & DAILY ADVERTISER, June 4, 1788

* Revolutionary War brass cannons
* Slave for sale ad

The entire front page is taken up with ads, a small one at the bottom notes: "To Be Sold. A Negro Servant Wench, Who has six years & seven months to serve---she is young, smart & healthy..." & another: "To be Sold...for Five Years, a Negro Man..." (see). Inside has a report from Congress which reflects some of the mundane items they dealt with then: "...secretary at war...there are in the arsenals of the United States two brass cannon...constantly in service throughout the war--that the said cannon are the property of the commonwealth of Massachusetts & that the governor thereof hath requested that they be returned...".
Other news of the day & a great wealth of ads. Four pages, excellent condition.
