* America inclined to give up the cause ?
Inside has a brief note: "Lt. Governor Bull is making preparations to set off for Charles-Town...and hopes to see peace re-established through all the American continent soon, to the satisfaction of both Great Britain & the colonists." Elsewhere is a report from the House of Commons noting: "...a plan that he had formed for the foundation of an amicable settlement of our disputes with America...that commissioners might be appointed by the crown who should be empowered to proclaim a cessation of hostilities in America..." & a bit further on: "...that the Americans are every day more & more inclined to return to their allegiance..." (see photos).
Eight pages, 9 by 12 inches, very nice condition.
