The first article is: "A Probable Cure for the Bite of a Mad Dog." Three pages are taken up with: "An Historical & Chronological List of the Most Eminent Painters".
There is a full page plate of various plants. Another page has an article: "To find the Magnetick Poles" which includes an illustration (see).
An interesting article is headed: "A curious Remark on Electricity, from a Gentleman in America, whose ingenious Letters on this Subject will soon be published in a separate Pamphlet...", which includes an extract of a letter by Benjamin Franklin (see: http://skullsinthestars.com/2010/10/15/benjamin-franklin-shocks-the-world-1752/).
Another page has over a full page article on: "The Pelican of America" which includes a nearly half page print of it as well (see).
Other items in this issue include: "Precautions requir'd in Inoculation" "Letters concerning the Earthquake in Jamaica" "Earthquake" "Of Dueling..." and many poems.
Near the back is the "Historical Chronicle" which has various news reports from throughout Europe.
Complete in 48 pages with full title/index page which contains an engraving of St. John's Gate. Measures about 5 by 8 inches, nice condition.
A very nice pre-Revolutionary War magazine from the "mother country" with a wide range of varied content including news of the day, political reports, literary items, and other unusual tidbits. This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907.
