THE DETROIT NEWS, Michigan, February 25, 1963

* NASCAR National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing
* 5th Annual Daytona 500 race...  Tiny Lund winner

This 40 page newspaper has a three column headline on the front page of the sport's section (page 25): "Hero of Fiery Crash Wins Daytona's '500' Race" with smaller subheads and results chart.

Tells of the 5th ever Daytona 500 race in which driver Tiny Lund won.

Due to the lack of popularity of NASCAR back then, reporting of these races are either non-existence in most newspapers or are small in comparison of other sports of the time. Nonetheless, still a historic 1st report.

Other news of the day including various advertising. Some small binding holes along the spine, but otherwise good.

wikipedia notes: The 1962 Daytona 500 was won by Fireball Roberts driving a 1962 Pontiac. Roberts drove his famous number 22 to victory in three hours and 10 minutes. The race was run in its entirety without a single caution flag. Roberts dominated the event by leading 144 of the 200 laps. The win was Roberts' second victory of the season.
