* Abraham Lincoln proclamation to deserters
As noted in the masthead this was the: "Gazette of The Regular & Volunteer Forces" and as such is replete with military news of all sorts.
The front page has: "The Campaign In the Carolinas" with subhead: "The Battle of Kinston". Various articles within include: "The Campaign in Virginia" "The Fighting of Troops" "Army & Navy Personal" "The Colored Man" "The Petersburgh Mine" "Pay of the Crews of Monitors & Other Iron-Clads" and much more.
An inside page also has; "Notice To Deserter--By the President....A Proclamation" signed in type: Abraham Lincoln (see photo). Other documents are signed by P.H. Sheridan and U.S. Grant.
Complete in sixteen pages, and in nice condition.
