Page 2 has some nice content on the Revolutionary War including: "...letter from (Charleston), South Carolina...some hundreds of people under arms had burnt the Custom house at Gaspee Bay at the river St. Lawrence..." and also: "...advices from America the Congress has given orders that the Provincials shall commit no farther hostilities till after the arrival of the Commissioners from England...are in hopes matters will be accommodated without farther bloodshed..." and: "...report of the day is that proposals from the Congress are received which are likely to bring about a reconciliation between the Colonies and Great Britain..." and also: "The troops from Bunker's Hill went into winter quarters very few days before I quitted Boston, which was on the 16th of December...all in good spirits & in better health than could be expected after so late a campaign..." and more (see).
A bit further on is a letter: "...from an Officer taken in Chamblee, dated from Trent Town, New Jersey" (see photos). Page 3 has an item: "Capt. Cook, in the new voyage which he is going to make..is to take Omiah to Otaheite and from thence to proceed upon the discovery of the North-west passage to the northwards of California..." (see photos).
Four pages, folio size, a few light stains, nice condition.
